Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented VP of Telecom Sales to lead our sales organization in transforming the telecommunications landscape. As a key member of the executive team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy that drives revenue growth and enhances our market position. You will leverage your extensive industry knowledge and network to build strong relationships with key stakeholders while fostering a high-performance sales culture.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement innovative sales strategies that resonate with the telecommunications market, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing sales team, providing guidance on complex sales negotiations and deal structuring
- Establish and nurture relationships with C-level executives and key decision-makers in target organizations
- Analyze market trends, competition, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities and drive strategic initiatives
- Oversee the sales pipeline, forecasting revenue, and delivering on growth targets while maintaining a customer-centric approach
- Collaborate with marketing, product development, and customer success teams to ensure cohesive messaging and product-market fit
- Monitor sales metrics and key performance indicators, sharing insights with the executive team to inform strategic decisions
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in sales leadership within the telecommunications or technology sector
- Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth
- Strong understanding of telecommunications products, services, and market dynamics
- Exceptional negotiation and closing skills with experience managing large, complex contracts
Preferred:
- Experience leading sales organizations through significant growth phases, including mergers and acquisitions
- Advanced degree in business administration or a related field
- Established network within the telecommunications industry, including carrier and enterprise relationships
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of telecom technologies, including VoIP, SD-WAN, and 5G solutions
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics tools to track performance and optimize strategies
- Experience leveraging data analytics to inform sales strategies and enhance decision-making processes
