Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary Head of Stage Management to lead our dynamic team in orchestrating seamless and innovative stage productions. In this fully remote role, you will be instrumental in shaping the stage management practices, ensuring that all performances are executed flawlessly while fostering a collaborative and creative environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of stage management for live performances, including planning, coordination, and execution of production schedules
- Develop and implement best practices for stage management to enhance efficiency and creativity
- Lead and mentor a team of stage managers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and artistic excellence
- Collaborate closely with directors, producers, and technical teams to ensure alignment on production goals and timelines
- Manage the logistics of rehearsals and performances, ensuring that all technical and artistic elements are integrated seamlessly
- Establish clear communication channels to facilitate effective collaboration among all stakeholders involved in productions
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in stage management or a related field, with a proven track record of overseeing complex productions
- Strong understanding of theatrical processes, including script analysis, rehearsal techniques, and live performance dynamics
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in managing diverse teams and fostering a positive work culture
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred:
- Experience with digital production tools and remote collaboration platforms
- Familiarity with various performance genres, including theater, dance, and multimedia productions
- Advanced degree in Theater Management, Production, or related field
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in stage management software and tools
- Understanding of lighting, sound, and set design principles
- Ability to leverage remote collaboration tools effectively for rehearsals and meetings
