Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned VP of Regulatory Compliance to lead our compliance strategy and ensure adherence to regulatory standards across all business operations. This role is pivotal in driving our commitment to ethical practices and regulatory excellence, fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive regulatory compliance framework that aligns with industry standards and best practices.
- Lead the compliance team in conducting risk assessments, audits, and reviews to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring timely reporting and communications.
- Establish and oversee training programs to educate employees on compliance policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory requirements, advising senior leadership on implications and necessary adjustments.
- Drive a culture of integrity and ethical behavior, ensuring compliance is integrated into the business processes and decision-making.
- Provide regular reports to the executive team and board of directors on compliance status, risks, and initiatives.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, or a related field, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
- Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to our industry and the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations.
- Experience managing compliance teams and fostering a culture of accountability and integrity.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex compliance issues and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to diverse audiences including executive leadership.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in law, business, or a related field.
- Certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) or equivalent.
- Experience in a rapidly growing organization or startup environment.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in compliance management software and tools.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and their implications on business operations.
- Experience with risk management frameworks and methodologies.
