Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary Library Director to lead our dynamic library services in a fully remote environment. This strategic leadership role will focus on enhancing the accessibility and relevance of our library resources while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic vision that aligns with the organization's mission and the evolving needs of the community
- Oversee library operations, including budgeting, staff management, and resource allocation to ensure high-quality service delivery
- Lead the development and implementation of innovative programs and services that promote literacy, learning, and community engagement
- Foster partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, and stakeholders to enhance library services and outreach
- Utilize data-driven decision-making to assess library performance, user satisfaction, and program effectiveness
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within library services and the broader community
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Library Science or a related field from an ALA-accredited institution
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in library management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative library programs and services
- Strong understanding of current trends in library science, technology, and community needs
Preferred:
- Experience in a fully remote work environment
- Track record of successful grant writing and fundraising initiatives
- Familiarity with library management systems and digital resources
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in library management software and digital resource platforms
- Experience with data analytics tools to measure library impact and user engagement
- Knowledge of emerging technologies in library services, including digital collections and e-resources
