Role Overview
We are looking for a strategic and visionary Director of Merchandising to lead our merchandising efforts and drive our brand's product assortment strategy. In this critical role, you will utilize data-driven insights to optimize product selection and enhance customer engagement, ensuring alignment with our unique brand identity and mission.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the merchandising strategy to drive sales growth and enhance customer experience across all channels.
- Lead cross-functional teams to curate and optimize product assortments, ensuring that offerings align with market trends and consumer demand.
- Analyze sales data and market insights to inform decision-making and adjust strategies to maximize profitability.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiating terms and fostering partnerships that support our merchandising goals.
- Oversee inventory management and forecasting to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize excess inventory costs.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create compelling promotional campaigns that elevate product visibility and drive engagement.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing merchandising team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in merchandising, with a focus on retail or e-commerce environments.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful merchandising strategies that drive revenue growth.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-informed decisions.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Ability to lead teams and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in a leadership role within a direct-to-consumer brand.
- Familiarity with digital merchandising technologies and e-commerce platforms.
- Strong understanding of customer behavior and market trends in the merchandising space.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in merchandising software and analytics tools, such as Tableau, Excel, or similar platforms.
- Experience with inventory management systems and product lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of digital marketing and e-commerce best practices.
