Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Insurance Processing Supervisor to lead our team in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of insurance claims. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the processing team, driving performance metrics and promoting a culture of excellence and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of insurance processors, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality processing standards
- Develop and implement effective training programs for new and existing team members to enhance processing efficiency and accuracy
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary
- Collaborate with claims adjusters and underwriters to address complex cases and resolve any processing discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies, conducting regular audits and reviews of processing activities
- Act as a point of contact for escalated issues, facilitating communication between the processing team and other departments
- Foster a positive team environment that encourages continuous improvement and professional development
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in insurance processing or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role
- In-depth knowledge of insurance products, policies, and regulations
- Proven ability to analyze data and metrics to drive operational improvements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- Experience with insurance processing software and claims management systems
- Certification in insurance (e.g., AINS, CPCU) is a plus
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Familiarity with claims processing software and customer relationship management (CRM) systems
- Understanding of database management and reporting tools
