Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and visionary VP of Financial Project Management to lead our project management office (PMO) and drive the execution of financial initiatives across the organization. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing complex financial projects, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring successful delivery in alignment with our business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the financial project management team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Develop and implement project management methodologies and best practices to streamline financial processes and enhance project delivery
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define project scopes, objectives, and key performance indicators, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including finance, operations, and compliance teams, to ensure project alignment and support
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes
- Provide regular updates and reports to executive leadership on project statuses, resource utilization, and financial performance
- Drive the adoption of project management tools and technologies to enhance team efficiency and collaboration
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in project management within a financial services environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale financial projects from initiation to completion
- Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and forecasting
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience in an agile project management environment
- Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, etc.)
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, JIRA, Asana) and financial modeling tools
- Experience with data analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to drive data-informed decision-making
- Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and methodologies
