Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Data Warehousing to lead our data management initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for architecting and optimizing our data warehousing solutions, ensuring that our analytics capabilities meet the needs of our business. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making and establish a data-centric culture across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable data warehousing architectures that support analytical workloads and business intelligence applications.
- Lead the development of data integration strategies to ensure high-quality, timely data is available for analysis.
- Drive the adoption of best practices in data governance, data modeling, and data lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to define data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing data warehousing team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and oversee the selection and implementation of relevant data technologies and tools.
- Establish performance metrics and monitor data warehouse performance, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
- Stay current with emerging data warehousing trends and technologies to continuously enhance our data capabilities.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in data warehousing, data architecture, or related fields, with a proven track record of leading large-scale data initiatives.
- Strong expertise in data warehousing technologies such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, or Google BigQuery.
- Deep understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data integration techniques.
- Proven experience in managing and mentoring technical teams, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred:
- Experience in cloud-based data warehousing solutions and data lakes.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis.
- Previous experience in a leadership role within a fast-paced, data-driven organization.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in data warehousing architecture and design principles.
- Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Experience with data governance frameworks and best practices.
