Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary Artistic Director (Dance) to lead our innovative dance company. This role involves curating and directing artistic programming that reflects our commitment to diversity, creativity, and excellence in dance. You will collaborate with a talented team of choreographers, dancers, and designers to produce compelling performances that resonate with audiences and elevate the art form.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and implement the artistic vision for the company, ensuring alignment with its mission and values.
- Lead the selection and commissioning of new works and collaborations, fostering relationships with emerging and established choreographers.
- Oversee the rehearsal process, providing artistic guidance and feedback to dancers and choreographers.
- Manage and direct the annual performance season, including programming, marketing strategies, and audience engagement initiatives.
- Develop and nurture partnerships with local, national, and international arts organizations, enhancing the company's reach and impact.
- Engage with community outreach programs to promote dance education and inclusivity in the arts.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience in a leadership role within a professional dance organization, with a proven track record of artistic direction.
- Strong portfolio of choreographic work and demonstrated ability to curate diverse dance programming.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate and inspire a shared artistic vision.
- Deep understanding of various dance styles and trends, including contemporary, classical, and cultural forms.
- Experience in grant writing and fundraising to support artistic initiatives.

- Advanced degree in Dance, Arts Management, or a related field.
- Experience working with various community engagement programs or educational initiatives.
- Established network within the dance and arts community.
