Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pit Supervisor to oversee operations within our facility, ensuring compliance with safety standards and efficient workflow. In this role, you will lead a team of operators, manage daily activities, and ensure that production targets are met while maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the pit operations team to meet production targets
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular safety audits
- Monitor equipment and performance to maximize operational efficiency and address any issues promptly
- Conduct training and development for team members to enhance their skills and ensure best practices
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize processes and resolve any operational challenges
- Maintain accurate records of production metrics, safety incidents, and team performance
- Assist in the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in operational supervision, preferably in a mining or heavy industry environment
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in operational settings
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred:
- Experience with process optimization and efficiency improvements
- Familiarity with mining equipment and operations
- Relevant certifications in safety management or operational leadership
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using operational management software and tools
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret production data and metrics
- Experience with maintenance management systems
