Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Commis Chef De Froid to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing cold dishes and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and presentation. Your expertise in cold food preparation will contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present a variety of cold dishes, including salads, charcuterie, and appetizers, while adhering to the menu specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cold kitchen, ensuring all food safety and sanitation standards are met.
- Assist in the development of new cold dish recipes, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely and efficient service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of cold ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Participate in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff to foster a collaborative and productive kitchen environment.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Formal culinary training or equivalent experience in a professional kitchen.
- Proven experience in cold food preparation, with a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a similar role within a fine dining establishment.
- Knowledge of various cuisines and culinary techniques.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in the use of kitchen equipment, including slicers, food processors, and blenders.
- Experience with food plating and presentation techniques.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and kitchen software.
