Role Overview
As a Lead Bus Monitor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during transport to and from school. You will oversee the bus monitoring team, implement safety protocols, and foster a supportive environment for students, enhancing their overall transportation experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the team of Bus Monitors, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a safe environment for all passengers.
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to enhance student safety during bus rides.
- Monitor student behavior and enforce school policies, addressing any concerns in a timely and effective manner.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation personnel to address any transportation-related issues.
- Conduct regular safety drills and training sessions for the bus monitoring team to ensure preparedness in emergency situations.
- Collect and analyze feedback from students and parents to continuously improve the transportation experience.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience working with children in a supervisory or support role.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and the ability to handle emergency situations effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to engage with students and parents.
Preferred:
- Experience in a transportation-related field, particularly in monitoring or supervising bus operations.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Knowledge of child development and behavior management techniques.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms for coordinating with team members and parents.
- Familiarity with safety monitoring software or systems is a plus.
