Role Overview
We are seeking a distinguished academic leader for the position of Endowed Chair in Applied Psychology. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing research initiatives, fostering innovative teaching methodologies, and contributing to the strategic vision of the department. Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a robust research agenda that addresses pressing societal issues through the lens of applied psychology
- Secure external funding through grants and partnerships to support research initiatives and student projects
- Mentor faculty and students, fostering a culture of academic excellence and innovation
- Teach graduate and undergraduate courses, integrating cutting-edge research findings into the curriculum
- Collaborate with other departments and institutions to enhance interdisciplinary research opportunities
- Engage with community partners to translate research into practice, enhancing the impact of psychological science on societal challenges
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related field from an accredited institution
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in academia, with a focus on applied psychology
- Demonstrated record of securing research funding and producing high-impact publications
- Proven leadership experience in academic settings, including mentoring faculty and students
Preferred:
- Strong network within the field of psychology and related disciplines
- Experience in curriculum development and innovative teaching methodologies
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in research and education
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in research methodologies relevant to applied psychology, including quantitative and qualitative methods
- Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, or Python) for data analysis
- Experience with community-based participatory research methods
