Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Aerial Spraying Supervisor to oversee our aerial application operations. In this fully remote role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all aerial spraying activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards while optimizing operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage a team of aerial applicators, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.
- Conduct pre-flight inspections and assess environmental conditions to ensure optimal spraying conditions.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of aerial application equipment, coordinating maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Develop and implement effective spraying plans based on crop requirements and environmental considerations.
- Collaborate with agronomists and other stakeholders to optimize application rates and timing for various pesticides and fertilizers.
- Maintain accurate records of application activities, including pesticide usage, equipment performance, and compliance documentation.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on best practices for aerial spraying techniques and safety measures.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in aerial application or related fields, with a strong understanding of agricultural practices and pesticide regulations.
- Valid pilot’s license and certification for aerial spraying operations.
- Proven experience managing and leading teams in high-pressure environments.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with precision agriculture technologies and data analysis tools.
- Experience with GPS and mapping software for spray planning and execution.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep knowledge of aerial application equipment and technology, including UAVs and traditional aircraft.
- Proficiency in using GIS tools and software for planning and assessment.
- Understanding of environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance requirements.
