Join ZTR in advancing the environmental global impact within the rail industry as a Field Service Engineer. This role involves hands-on troubleshooting, system commissioning, customer training, and resolution of complex technical issues. The successful candidate will work closely with customers and internal stakeholders, and reports directly to the Technical Service Manager in London, Ontario, Canada.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-year diploma in Electronic Engineering Technology or Professional Engineer, or valid electrician license
- Strong ability to troubleshoot electrical control systems and locomotive electrical systems
- Advanced PLC programming and configuration skills
- Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus)
- Basic to intermediate understanding of Ethernet networking, including LANs, WANs, VPNs, and Wi-Fi
- Proficiency with standard computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure situations
- Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Hands-on technical experience required
- Locomotive and/or freight railway experience a plus
