Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator or Engineer.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, ASM, GoldenGate, Data Guard, and RMAN.
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with automation tools and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent certifications.
- Experience with Exadata or Autonomous Database.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.

- GoldenGate 21c/23ai - oralce product and replicates fata from one place to another
- ^for them this is about 85 of the work but 50% of what the team does is that
- -one other SME in oracle and two others that are training in oracle as well, 4 out of 7 support oracle, 1 SME so they will be find and single threaded until replacement
- Other people on the team handle these but they are on call they will help with the problems in Tableau in documentation, etc. call someone on the team. Main job focused on Oracle DB and golden gate but all things being equal minimal fashion

Senior Oracle Database Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Oracle Database Engineer to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring the performance, availability, and scalability of our Oracle database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle technologies, including Oracle Exadata, Oracle Goldengate, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). While this is an Oracle focused role, you will be expected to support technologies adjacent to the Oracle stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Oracle RAC database environments, including a 100TB+ Exadata Data Warehouse.
- Monitor and optimize database performance using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
- Manage and automate database infrastructure and backups in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including Exadata Cloud at Customer (ExaC@C).
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application performance and scalability.
- Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures.
- Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide root cause analysis.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
Strategic & Architectural Responsibilities
- Contribute to the long-term database strategy, aligning with enterprise architecture and business goals.
- Capacity planning
- Lead the design and evolution of scalable, cloud-native database architectures in OCI.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies and tools to improve database reliability, automation, and performance.
- Define and enforce standards and best practices for database design, deployment, and operations.
- Partner with cross-functional and customer teams to shape data platform roadmaps and modernization initiatives.
