The Streaming Disney Entertainment & ESPN Transmission team supports 24/7 monitoring and operational sustainment for Linear and Event streaming products; HULU, ESPN+, and Disney+. As a Transmission Engineer I, you will support critical streaming broadcast systems, oversee and analyzing audio/video transmissions across multiple data centers and ensuring successful management, monitoring, and delivery of live linear and live event broadcast streams, within the IP based transmission ecosystem.
Requirements
- Demonstrates an understanding of signal flows, measurements, and procedures.
- Basic understanding of Satellite, fiber, and IP based transport (HLS, RTMP, SRT, unicast, multicast, etc.)
- Quality control and monitoring of event based and linear acquisition signals regardless of format (Linear, IP, Fiber, etc.), ensuring all signals meet strict quality control standards and adjust video, audio and closed captions as required.
- Perform quality control and corrective action to enhance our products
- Interact with internal departments and external partners to support daily live feed acquisition, monitoring, and distribution needs.
- Responsible for troubleshooting and resolution of specific daily operational problems.
- Expected to fully comprehend and execute applicable SOPs and subsequent workflows for assigned transmission areas of responsibility.
- Technical liaison to internal departments and external partners
- Basic understanding of streaming technology and workflows associated with our streaming products (ESPN+ | Disney+ | HULU)
