Medical Coding Specialist II - Professional Physician Coder Neurosciences

UW Health is seeking a Medical Coding Specialist II to utilize encoder, grouper software, and other coding resources to determine appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and/or HCPCS codes. The role will involve applying knowledge of NCCI, LCD/NCD directives, and applicable regulatory requirements to select codes and modifiers, with focus on specialty codes and Evaluation and Management (E&M) codes. The position offers a flexible schedule and a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Medical coding education or active coding certification
  • 1 year of progressive coding experience (HCC-specific experience is preferred)
  • 2 years of progressive coding experience in multiple specialties (HCC Risk Adjustment Coding Preferred)
  • Licenses & Certifications (CPC, COC, CIC, CCS, CCA, CRC, RHIT, RHIA, RHIA) and a registered health information technician (RHIT) (preferred)
