Platform Engineer

We are seeking a DevOps / Platform Engineer to help build, operate, and continuously improve our cloud platform on AWS. This role focuses on automation, infrastructure reliability, observability, and operational excellence, while supporting development teams running Java microservices and PHP applications.
You will play a key role in promoting infrastructure best practices, improving system reliability, and enabling teams to ship software safely and efficiently in a 24x7 production environment.

A typical day in this role might include:

1. Promote automation and infrastructure best practices, while supporting the 24x7 Operations and any other development activities.
2. Contribute to a team of like-minded platform engineers building platforms on AWS
3. Establish infrastructure as code standards, governance frameworks, and best practices across teams and projects
4. Design robust monitoring and observability strategies for proactive issue detection and resolution
5. Lead automation initiatives to streamline deployment pipelines and enhance operational efficiency
6. Optimize cloud infrastructure and costs through governance policies and strategic optimization
7. Lead incident response and postmortem processes to drive continuous improvement
   Required Qualifications:
8. 1. 3+ years of experience on AWS platform.
9. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fi eld, or equivalent work experience.
10. Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining CICD pipelines using Github Actions and AWS Code Deploy.
11. Hands-on experience with administration and deployment of Apache/PHP, Nodejs, JAVA applications on EKS (Kubernetes) using helm charts. Should be able to create and maintain helm charts as well.
12. Working knowledge of databases like AWS Managed Opensearch, AWS RDS (Mariadb, Postgres and MySQL), Mongo DB will be required.
13. Hands-on experience with securing endpoints with SSL.
14. Solid understanding of Terraform and Terragrunt to manage and detect IAC drifts on production environments.
    Preferred Qualifications:
15. 1. Programming Skills: Profi ciency in Java or PHP.
16. Design, develop, and maintain Java microservices (RESTful APIs)
17. Support and enhance existing PHP applications
18. Write clean, testable, and well-documented code
19. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
20. Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
21. Contribute to improving performance, reliability, and security
