About the Role & Program
The Programming department's Mission is to create, acquire and schedule premier content to engage fans and maximize audiences on all platforms. We lead the development of sport strategies across the company and manage relationships with colleagues in other departments, as well as league partners and organizers. The approximate dates of this internship are January through May 2026.
What You Will Do
As an Intern, you will be part of Programming and Acquisition projects related to ESPN's professional and college sports categories. You will work as a member of the Programming Department at large to contribute to the overall content scheduling strategy for ESPN across platforms and proactively contribute innovative ideas to continue to grow ESPN’s business. Responsibilities include:
Conducting ratings research and scheduling across linear television and digital media networks
Developing presentations and communicating with various ESPN departments regarding programming initiatives
Assisting with the planning and scheduling of sporting events for college and professional sports and digital media
Required Qualifications & Skills
Previous experience in television programming or production (academic or internship)
Fundamental understanding of ESPN services and offerings
Sports knowledge both professional and collegiate
Business experience in a professional office environment
Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Detail oriented self-starter with outstanding interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Appreciation for pop culture, trends and new technologies
Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Fundamental knowledge of contract administration processes
Basic understanding of other media, e.g., radio, online, print, etc.
Education
Junior or Senior year preferred
Major or previous coursework in Communications, Sports Media or related major preferred
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
The approximate dates of this internship are January through May 2026
This internship is a remote position and requires a working, reliable internet connection as well as a quiet, dedicated workspace
Fully available from Monday through Friday for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week. There may be some flexibility based on candidate’s academic schedule

The pay rate for this remote role is $22.50 per hour.
