United States onlyOur client is seeking a Backend Architect to help design, build, and evolve a highly scalable, distributed computing platform. This role will focus on architectural ownership, performance optimization, and hands-on development across critical backend systems. This is a fully remote position.
Backend Architect’s Responsibilities and Duties:
Architect, develop, and enhance a highly scalable distributed computing framework
Own the design and implementation of key portions of the backend platform
Lead architectural decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability
Optimize performance across multiple system layers including services, APIs, and data processing components
Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and infrastructure teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
Backend Architect’s Qualifications and Skills:
Strong experience designing and building scalable backend or distributed systems
Proven ability to architect complex platforms and own systems end to end
Deep understanding of performance optimization across backend services and infrastructure
Experience working with cloud-based, distributed, or high-throughput systems
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on system efficiency and reliability
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams
