Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Remote Commercial Mortgage Underwriting Assistant to support the underwriting and deal management process for a commercial mortgage brokerage. In this role, you will assist with underwriting loan opportunities, analyzing financial statements, collecting and organizing deal documentation, and maintaining accurate pipeline tracking. You will work closely with the manager and internal teams to ensure all deals move forward efficiently, providing regular updates on active transactions and helping prevent delays in the process. The ideal candidate has experience in commercial mortgage underwriting, strong analytical and organizational skills, and is highly proficient in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and underwriting tasks. This role requires a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and clear communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite deals, document key information, and report findings to the manager.
  • Collect and organize all required deal documentation and information.
  • Track the deal pipeline and ensure all deals are consistently updated.
  • Provide updates every two days on all active deals in the pipeline.
  • Support deal flow and ensure no items are missed or delayed.
  • Analyze financial statements and supporting documents related to loan applications.
  • Assist in preparing underwriting summaries and deal presentations.
  • Communicate with internal teams to gather missing information and ensure timely processing of deals.
  • Perform other tasks related to the position.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proficient level of English (written and spoken).
  • Out-of-the-box thinker, proactive, reliable, organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and confident approach.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and collaboration skills.
  • 1.5+ years of experience in underwriting for a commercial mortgage broker.
  • High level of responsibility and reliability.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through to completion.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to move deals forward and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly for underwriting and financial analysis tasks.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Ability to understand and follow established processes accurately with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work in alignment with U.S. Eastern Time (New York time) business hours for at least four hours.
  • Interested in long-term career opportunities.
  • Reliable computer (Windows 10 or newer), two monitors, and stable high-speed internet.

Compensation & Benefits:
