Summary Buyer will be responsible for creating and managing diverse supplier partnerships that drive enterprise value within innovation, quality, best cost, and competitive advantages that benefit customers, suppliers, and patients. In This Position, You Will Have the Opportunity To
- Foundational multi-category understanding including technical product knowledge, internal sourcing processes, cost drivers, related industry dynamics and market trends
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support pricing strategy, demand forecasting, supplier selection, and contract execution
- Execute procurement activities across make-to-stock, make-to-order, and drop-ship models to ensure uninterrupted supply
- Analyze spend and demand trends to identify opportunities for cost optimization, supplier consolidation, and enhanced procurement strategies
- Place and manage purchase orders in alignment with production schedules and inventory objectives
- Manage and optimize inventory levels, balancing service levels with working capital objectives
- Support supplier performance management, including service, quality, and delivery metrics
- Supports contracting with regional direct and indirect suppliers
- Manages the Approved Supplier List
- Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with US laws
- Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics
What You Need to Succeed in This Position
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3–5 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing or healthcare environment
- and 1-2 years of contracting experience
- ERP software experience particularly, an in-depth knowledge of MRP preferred
- Familiarity with total cost analysis concepts
- Excellent understanding of statistical concepts used to formulate safety stock quantities to meet customer service levels
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment with changing priorities
- Experience with implementing and maintaining a Lean Material Flow manufacturing environment is a plus
- Able to demonstrate a track record of accomplishments in supply chain management
- High attention to detail, particularly in data accuracy and order execution
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including, word, excel and Outlook
- Certification from APICS or ISM a plus
