This is a remote position.

EXECUTION AND DEPLOYMENT

  • Prepare and set up the operational environment based on the approved solution architecture and design
  • Deploy, install, configure, and test software and/or hardware in development, staging and production environments
  • Develop or install programs, scripts or interfaces that automate configuration, deployment, and testing activities

TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND TROUBLESHOOTING

  • Maintain and evaluate systems, network, database, software, and hardware performance by logging, and monitoring, updating, performance tuning, troubleshooting, raising issues and vulnerabilities and collaborating with the appropriate parties to investigate and resolve them
  • Ensure security of the applications, servers, network, data, and other digital assets by configuring and managing access control levels and firewall, setting up proper authentication and protection layers, implementing and enforcing security policies, standards, SLAs, and processes
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT AND PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

  • Perform scheduled audits of the systems and data and give recommendations for enhancing performance, security, and quality
  • Study, explore and evaluate new technologies, tools, platforms, best practices, and processes applicable and aligned with the team’s goals and objectives

PROJECT PLANNING, ANALYSIS AND STRATEGY

  • Participate in project scoping and planning meetings to provide guidance and recommendations on operational environment and architecture, identify technical requirements, options, costs, and risks to help the team come up with the best solution design for the project
  • Document, review and evaluate the overall solution architecture and design (includes systems, network, and database structures), provide expert inputs, and ensure that they adhere to the quality standards and practices set by the team concerning security, reliability, performance, and cost

Requirements

  • Relevant work experience and background in Systems Administration/Development/IT Operations
    1. AWS Architecting (not necessarily certified)
    2. Linux Administration – Debian (Ubuntu) or RHEL (CentOS) Distro
      • Command line operations
      • Shell/Bash Scripting
    3. Database Administration – MySQL/MariaDB/PostgreSQL/MSSQL
      • Create databases, tables, and users
      • Select, Update, Insert, Delete queries/statements/scripts
      • Dump, Export, Import, Backup databases, tables, data
    4. Version Control System – Git/SVN
      • Create, Clone, Checkout, Initialize repositories
      • Push, Pull, Merge Updates
    5. Amazon Web Services (AWS)
      • Launching, Configuring, Monitoring EC2, RDS Instances
      • Setting up VPC, Subnets, Security Groups, etc.
      • CloudFormation
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of DNS components, concepts, and configuration
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of SDLC, Web development and methodologies
    1. Common web programming languages, frameworks, scripting
      • PHP, Laravel, Codeigniter, HTML, CSS, Javascript or similar technologies
    2. API / Web Services – REST / SOAP
    3. CI/CD
    4. Ansible
