Podcast Video Editor

About the Role

We’re looking for a reliable, no-frills video editor to support a remote podcast focused on hiring, careers, and leadership decision-making.

This is not a creative or cinematic role. The priority is clarity, consistency, and speed — not effects or storytelling flair.

Core Responsibilities

• Editing & Delivery
• Clean up podcast recordings (audio + video)
• Remove long pauses, obvious mistakes, technical glitches
• Apply simple jump cuts only where necessary
• Add pre-set intro/outro (template provided)

Export:

• 1 long-form episode
• 2–3 short clips (30–90 seconds)
• Technical Standards
• Ensure clean audio levels
• Ensure stable framing and resolution
• Maintain consistent look and feel across episodes

What This Role Is NOT

• Not creative direction
• Not storytelling or pacing for drama
• Not motion graphics or heavy effects
• Not thumbnail design
• Not content ideation
• If you enjoy “making things cinematic,” this is not the role.

Requirements

Ideal Profile

You’re a fit if you:

• Prefer clear instructions over creative freedom
• Reliable, fast, consistent, and detail-oriented
• Can follow templates without improvising
• Are comfortable editing talking-head content
• Respect deadlines and delivery standards

Backgrounds that work well:

• Podcast editors
• YouTube editors (talking-head / interview formats)
• Media editors supporting coaches, consultants, educator

Tools

• Any professional editing software (Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci, capcut etc.)
• Comfortable working from shared Google Drive folders
• Owns a good device as it is essential

Output Expectations

• Turnaround: 48–72 hours per episode
• Minimal back-and-forth
• Clean, ready-to-publish files

Engagement Model

• Per-episode or per-clip basis
• Fractional / freelance
• Long-term if consistent

What Success Looks Like

• Episodes require little to no revision
• Editing feels invisible
• Content is usable across platforms immediately
