Offshore -Senior Azure Data Engineer

About the Role:

Smartbridge is seeking an Azure Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize data solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure technologies. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 8 years of experience working with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse Analytics, SQL, and ETL processes.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).

• Design and implement data models for efficient storage and retrieval in Azure Synapse Analytics.

• Optimize SQL queries and performance tuning for large datasets.

• Work with Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, and other cloud data solutions.

• Implement data security measures, including role-based access control (RBAC) and data masking.

• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Technical Skills Required:

• Azure Data Factory (ADF) – Building, orchestrating, and monitoring data pipelines.

• Azure Synapse Analytics – Data modeling, performance optimization.

• SQL Server & T-SQL – Writing complex queries, stored procedures.

• ETL & Data Transformation – Experience handling large datasets.

• Azure Data Lake & Blob Storage – Managing structured and unstructured data.

• Power BI or other visualization tools (preferred but not mandatory).

• Python or Spark (Databricks experience is a plus).

Additional Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.

• Microsoft Azure certification (preferred but not mandatory).

• Experience in Oil & Gas, Life Science, or Food & Beverage is a plus.

• 100% remote role – Must be available for the second shift to overlap with the US team until Noon CST.

• 3-month probation period before full-time confirmation. If certification is not already held, it must be completed during probation.

Recruitment Process & Technical Testing:

Candidates will undergo a 45-60 minute TestGorilla assessment, including:

• Intro Video Section – Candidate introduction & motivation.

• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills – Scenario-based questions.

• Technical Test – Covering SQL, Azure Data Engineering-related questions, and possible coding tasks.
