About the role

As a Senior Android Developer, you will design, develop, and maintain high-performance, real-time Android applications used by major global airlines, fuel suppliers, and airports. These applications support critical aviation fuel operations, improving transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency across the full lifecycle.
You will work within Agile delivery teams alongside developers, designers, testers, and product owners, taking ownership of complex features from design through to release. This role requires a high level of technical autonomy, strong engineering judgement, and a commitment to delivering clean, reliable, and maintainable Android solutions that align with long-term product and business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop refined user interfaces and complex business logic integrated with backend systems (e.g. REST APIs) and device hardware such as Bluetooth or NFC
  • Write clean, extensible, and well-tested code, ensuring high test coverage using JUnit and related frameworks
  • Architect and implement new features, clearly communicating technical approaches, trade-offs, and dependencies to the wider team
  • Propose and deliver improvements to application architecture, development practices, and tooling
  • Take ownership of feature delivery, including estimation, implementation, testing, and release within agreed timelines
  • Work independently across the codebase while collaborating effectively within a Scrum team
  • Participate actively in sprint planning, refinements, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Review code produced by peers, promoting high standards of quality, maintainability, and testability
  • Ensure all delivered code meets acceptance criteria, quality standards, and security expectations prior to release
  • Collaborate closely with Android and iOS engineers, testers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure shared understanding and aligned delivery

Requirements

  • Java – 4+ years of professional Android development experience
  • Kotlin – 3+ years of commercial experience building Android applications
  • Strong experience with the Android SDK, including lifecycle management and performance considerations
  • JUnit or Espresso – 3+ years experience writing and maintaining automated tests
  • Experience using Gradle for build configuration and dependency management
  • Proven ability to deliver clear, testable, and maintainable code in production environments
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams, consistently meeting delivery commitments
  • Ability to assess the impact of code changes across the application and communicate those impacts clearly
  • Comfortable working autonomously while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment
