About the role
This is a hands-on testing role that is critical to ensuring release readiness across web, mobile, APIs, and integrations. You’ll report into a distributed engineering team and take ownership of test strategy, system documentation, and test case design. As a Manual Test Engineer, you’ll plan and execute functional, regression, exploratory, cross-browser, and mobile tests, manage test data, log and triage defects in GitHub, verify fixes, and contribute to release quality.
To succeed, you’ll bring persistence, excellent written English for high-signal defect reports, and the ability to collaborate closely with engineers and product teams across time zones.
Responsibilities
- Own test strategy and system documentation
- Derive test cases from user stories and architecture
- Plan and execute functional, regression, exploratory, cross-browser, and mobile tests across Portal, APIs, mobile app, and Teams/Zoom integrations
- Manage test data to support repeatable and reliable validation
- Log and triage defects in GitHub, verify fixes, and ensure closure
- Contribute to release readiness by providing clear risk assessments and validation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
- 3–6 years of professional experience in manual QA for SaaS applications, ideally in regulated or enterprise client environments
- Proven ability in requirements analysis and test design, comfortable creating test assets even when documentation is sparse
- Hands-on experience with API testing using Postman or Insomnia to validate request and response flows
- Strong SQL skills for performing thorough data validation across relational datasets
- Working knowledge of browser and mobile developer tools, applying them for debugging and cross-platform validation
- Practical experience with accessibility testing, ensuring compliance with common accessibility practices and standards
- Awareness of security test heuristics (OWASP) and the ability to apply them when assessing system resilience
- Understanding of cloud application topologies on AWS, with the ability to validate system behavior in distributed environments
Nice to have
- Lightweight automation for smoke/regression (e.g., Playwright, Cypress) to augment manual testing
- Experience with regulated or enterprise clients
