About the Role
We’re looking for a Data Governance Manager to take ownership of defining, documenting, and evolving the organization’s central data model.
As the subject matter expert for data governance, you’ll guide integrations, ensure data consistency across systems, and make key decisions that shape how data is structured and managed.
You’ll collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to align data practices with business goals, enabling the delivery of scalable, reliable insights across the platform.
Responsibilities
- Define, document, and maintain the central data model, ensuring consistency, scalability, and alignment with business needs.
- Develop and utilize tools to measure and enforce adherence to the central data model.
- Research and define integration-specific data models, ensuring consistency with the core structure.
- Collaborate with engineers to guide the creation of integrations that comply with data governance standards.
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the data model, driving informed decisions and maintaining data integrity.
- Partner with product management, engineering, and domain experts to refine and evolve data governance practices.
- Review integrations regularly to ensure ongoing compliance with the data model and governance principles.
Requirements
- Proven experience in data governance, data modeling, or data management roles.
- Strong ability to translate technical documentation into structured data model specifications.
- Experience creating repeatable processes and frameworks for managing and enforcing data model consistency.
- Solid collaboration and communication skills to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a data-driven approach.
- Must have at least one of the following:
- Experience with big data platforms or data integration pipelines.
- Familiarity with graph databases and relationship-based data models.
- Experience developing or maintaining data governance tools, processes, or frameworks.
