Seeking a skilled Payroll Accountant who will work independently and under the direction of the Assistant Controller. The candidate must have at least 5yrs of progressive payroll experience with a medium or large company, 2 yrs minimum experience processing payroll for 200+ employees, experience working in a large ERP system, experience working with a large payroll service provider; such as Paycom and ADP, understand compliance of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, and be able to perform general ledger account reconciliations. The candidate must have good organizational skills, be able to manage multiple deadlines, communicate effectively, and maintain productive working relationships. The ability to think critically, analyze problems, and propose solutions is required.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Weekly timecard processing
  • Bi-weekly payroll processing
  • Payroll reporting, filings, and taxes
  • Process compensation and benefit changes
  • Garnishments and Taxes
  • Processing labor transfers
  • Complete general ledger (GL) account reconciliations
  • Compliance assurance
  • Researching and resolving payroll discrepancies
  • Audit support and internal controls
  • Maintain payroll records and process documentation
  • Point of contact for all payroll related matters
  • Function as a back-up for other accounting tasks.
  • Works collaboratively with HR

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business required. Accounting or Finance degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of progressive payroll experience with a medium or-large company
  • At least 2 years of experience processing payroll for 200+ employees
  • Strong knowledge of accounting with the ability to reconcile accounts
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) welcomed
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Ability to think critically, analyze a problem, and propose solutions is required.
  • The candidate must have good organization skills and be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to details are required
  • Hands on experience with ERP systems and large payroll provider systems are desired
  • Experience and skills in government contract accounting, manufacturing accounting, and job/labor costing are highly desired.

Compensation: Base pay range is $60,000 - $85,000 depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for an annual bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA.
