Location:
The role requires excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills, as well as a solid understanding of modern bookkeeping and accounting practices in a remote work environment.
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance support
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Experience working with Australian clients is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience with XERO and/or MYOB accounting software (required)
- Exposure to QuickBooks Online (QBO) is an advantage
- Strong numerical accuracy and ability to identify discrepancies
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, formulas preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recording Transactions: Coding and entering daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, and expenses into accounting systems (XERO/MYOB/QBO).
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Managing vendor payments, client invoicing, collections, and payment tracking.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconciling bank and credit card statements to ensure accuracy and alignment with financial records.
- Invoicing & Collections: Issuing invoices, monitoring overdue accounts, and following up on outstanding payments.
- Payroll & Timesheets (if required): Processing employee payroll, managing timesheets, and handling deductions.
- Financial Reporting: Assisting in preparing weekly, monthly, or quarterly financial reports including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- General Support: Maintaining financial records, spreadsheets, and supporting ad hoc accounting and administrative tasks as needed.
