Virtual Real Estate Underwriter / Acquisitions Analyst (Remote – US Based)
We are seeking a highly skilled Virtual Real Estate Underwriter / Acquisitions Analyst to support our acquisitions team focused on single-family and small multifamily properties in Austin, Texas.
This is a fully remote, US-based position. Candidates must be located in the United States and be able to work in alignment with US Central Time hours.

Role Summary
You serve as the gatekeeper of deal quality for our Austin, TX acquisitions pipeline.
You are responsible for sourcing, analyzing, underwriting, and coordinating deals, ensuring only high-quality investment opportunities reach ownership for final decision-making.
This is a high-ownership, analytical role requiring independent thinking, fast decision-making, and strong attention to detail. You are expected to proactively identify missing data, disqualify weak deals early, and drive analysis forward without step-by-step instruction.
This is not a clerical role. It is a deal-making and investment analysis function.
Core Responsibilities
MLS Monitoring & Market Intelligence
- Monitor Austin-area MLS daily to identify properties within our buy box
- Track price reductions, stale listings, and emerging opportunities
- Maintain a watchlist of potentially mispriced or undervalued properties
- Proactively surface opportunities—do not wait for assigned leads
Deal Intake & Initial Analysis
- Review inbound opportunities from agents, wholesalers, and off-market sources
- Classify deals as: Pass, Keep (needs more info), or Escalate
- Maintain accurate tracking systems and ensure data integrity
Underwriting & Financial Analysis
- Gather and validate property, comp, rental, and market data
- Build and maintain pro formas using established models
- Calculate MAO, ARV, and projected cash-on-cash returns
- Evaluate multiple exit strategies (flip, BRRRR, long-term hold, ADU/DADU, condo exit)
- Continuously refine underwriting as new data becomes available
- Deliver clear, investment-ready recommendations with supporting rationale
Deal Coordination & Execution Support
- Coordinate underwriting workflow once deals show potential
- Schedule walkthroughs and coordinate inspections with the Acquisitions Lead
- Collect and verify photos, videos, and property condition reports
- Assemble complete, organized deal packages for ownership review
Data & Pipeline Management
- Maintain clean, structured, and version-controlled deal tracking systems
- Use Google Sheets, Smartsheet, Dropbox, MLS, and related tools
- Build or improve templates to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Agent & Wholesaler Communication
- Serve as first point of contact for inbound opportunities
- Collect missing information quickly and professionally
- Maintain strong, responsive communication with external partners
- All negotiation and offer discussions remain with the Acquisitions Lead
Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
- 3+ years of hands-on US real estate underwriting experience (SFR + small multifamily, value-add focus)
- Proven ability to independently classify deals (Pass / Keep / Escalate)
- Strong understanding of ARV analysis, comps, investor buy boxes, and pro forma modeling
- Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel
- Strong understanding of US residential real estate financing structures and terminology
- Ability to identify missing data and independently drive deals from intake to underwriting completion
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
