Whats the role about?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Co-ordinator to join the PeacePlus Nature Programme, one of the most ambitious nature recovery programmes ever delivered by RSPB NI. Were looking for a positive, highly organised and collaborative individual who enjoys working with a wide range of colleagues and partners, and who will play a key role in supporting procurement activity across a complex, multi-partner programme.

About PeacePlus Nature

PeacePlus Nature is a €20.8 million cross-border programme tackling the decline of priority species and habitats across Northern Ireland and the border counties of Ireland. The programme is supported through PEACEPLUS, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), and funded by the European Union, the UK Government, the Government of Ireland and the Northern Ireland Executive. The partnership includes RSPB NI, BirdWatch Ireland, Butterfly Conservation, Monaghan County Council, River Blackwater Catchment Trust, Truagh Development Association, Lough Neagh Partnership, NI Water and An Taisce. Together, we are working to restore blanket bog, wet grassland and limestone grassland, and support iconic species including Curlew, Corncrake, Hen Harrier, Small Blue butterfly and Irish Damselfly.

What will you be doing?

As Procurement Co-ordinator, you will support the delivery of procurement activity across the programme, ensuring processes are compliant, well-documented and aligned with funder and internal requirements. Working closely with the Programme Management Team and multiple partner organisations, with the support of an external procurement consultant, RSPBs central procurement team, you will:

  • Co-ordinate and support procurement activity across the PeacePlus Nature Programme
  • Provide day-to-day procurement guidance to project teams and partners
  • Support tendering exercises and supplier selection processes
  • Maintain procurement records, documentation and audit trails
  • Support compliance with funder, public sector and EU procurement requirements
  • Work with finance colleagues to ensure eligible spend and evidence is in place for grant claims
  • Build strong working relationships across RSPB and partner organisations
  • Support consistent application of procurement policies, ethical standards and best practice

What were looking for

Essential skills, knowledge and experience

  • Experience supporting procurement or purchasing activity
  • Good understanding of procurement processes, tendering and contracts
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of, or willingness to develop knowledge in, public sector and EU procurement

Qualifications

  • CIPS membership or qualification desirable, or willingness to work towards one

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience

  • Experience working on grant-funded or donor-funded projects
  • Experience supporting public sector or regulated procurement
  • Familiarity with OJEU, EU procurement principles or the Procurement Act 2023

This is a Fixed-Term contract role until end of July 2029 for 37.5 hours per week. Closing date: 23:59, Sunday, 31st May 2026 We are looking to conduct interviews for this position from 11th June 2026.
