What you’ll do:
- Talent map technical & business leaders; build target lists by company, lab, and research lineage.
- Market map emerging sub-sectors; track who’s building what, where, and why it matters.
- Source founders, founding hires, and SMEs across universities, national labs, open-source communities, and stealth startups.
- Assess signal (not hype): translate patents, papers and traction into action
- Engage founders (technical and commercial) with thoughtful outreach, curiosity, and follow-through.
- Organize our Pipeline: keep Sheets/Airtable/ATS records crisp, tagged, and searchable; maintain warm-lists.
- Champion the brand: show up as Roadrunner in online communities, events, and intros—leave people impressed.
What you bring:
- A hunter’s mindset and a nose for quality. You love digging, connecting dots, and closing loops.
- Fluency in deep tech curiosity—comfortable reading abstracts, scanning arXiv/PubMed/GitHub, and decoding jargon.
- Founder empathy: you can talk to PhDs and operators, ask sharp questions, and earn trust fast.
- VC literacy: stages, cap tables, round mechanics, why now/why us—clear and concise.
- Structured systems: you keep lists current, notes tight, and signals comparable across candidates.
- Strong written outreach that gets replies (and referrals).
- Familiarity with tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, Airtable, Lever/Greenhouse, Crunchbase/PitchBook, and AI Tools like Metaview, SquarePeg and Juicebox
How we’ll measure success
- Clear market & talent maps in priority areas.
- High-signal intros that move to interview.
- Warm network growth (referrals & repeat replies).
- Clean, searchable data that the team actually uses.
