📝 Job Description: Estimation & Plan Takeoff Specialist
Position Overview The Estimation & Plan Takeoff Specialist is responsible for analyzing architectural and engineering drawings to produce accurate material, labor, and cost estimates. This role supports project bidding, budgeting, and execution by ensuring precise quantity takeoffs and well-documented estimates.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP plans.
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for materials, equipment, and labor.
- Prepare cost estimates and maintain estimation records/databases.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to validate takeoff results.
- Identify discrepancies or conflicts in drawings and communicate findings.
- Utilize digital takeoff and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, AutoCAD).
- Support bid preparation and provide input for project budgets.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company procedures.
🎯 Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in estimation, quantity takeoff, or related construction roles.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in digital takeoff software (PlanSwift, Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret complex architectural and engineering drawings.
- Competence in Microsoft Excel and other data management tools.
