The Role

At QuidelOrtho, we’re advancing the power of diagnostics for a healthier future for all. Join our mission as our next DevOps Engineer. This role focuses on building and maintaining cloud infrastructure, implementing automation, and supporting DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure cloud environments.

This position is remote eligible, with a strong preference for candidates who reside in Eastern Time zones.

The Responsibilities

  • Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation scripts.

  • Support infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and Ansible.

  • Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, and cost optimization.

  • Assist with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps practices.

  • Ensure compliance with security standards and implement access controls.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues.

  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.

  • Document processes and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

  • Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies.

The Individual

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 2-4 years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering roles.

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Knowledge of automation and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

  • Experience with CI/CD tools and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Understanding of infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

  • Relevant certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes).

  • Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).

  • Familiarity with security best practices and compliance standards.

  • Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid environments.

Application Development, Infrastructure, and Security teams

External Partners:

Cloud service providers and technical support vendors

The Work Environment

No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. Collaborative and learning-focused environment with opportunities to work on cloud projects and enhance DevOps skills.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $89,000 to $142,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
