Position Overview:
Reporting to Director of Interpretations as well as Senior Director of Operations, and as an integral part of the Questel Language Solutions (QLS) Team, this role is responsible to provide support to the Operations and Sales teams by managing various aspects of the translation and interpreting lifecycle, assisting with new requests, and processing new orders.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Apply knowledge of all QLS products and services to scope project requirements
- Develop a thorough understanding of Questel’s interpretation services
- Develop a working knowledge of department’s TMS
- Review prepared quotes prior to submission to the client on as needed basis
- Respond to project requests for live interpretation, utilizing vendor database to identify, contact, and
coordinate with linguists - Liaise between interpreters and clients to ensure smooth project completion and client satisfaction
- Ensure process compliance and client satisfaction is achieved within the team and alongside the
manager - Respond to inquiries in a timely and service-oriented manner with both internal and external customers
- Maintain relationships with clients through regular communication, outstanding customer service, and quick and accurate project estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers to clearly convey project requirements and ensure client specifications are met
- Assist Operations team with launching new projects and initiating tasks for rush requests
- Assess feasibility of rush requests, employing creative and critical thinking for meeting urgent deadlines
- Pre-process files for translation, ensuring that the translator receives complete, organized files
- Conduct postproduction quality assurance checks, and clearly communicate any issues to project managers
- Source translation teams, complete ad hoc tasks, and monitor progress on behalf of the project manager
- Prepare final delivery packages and submit final translations to clients
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date project records
- Manage project resources and monitor projects to ensure all jobs are in progress and on schedule
- Monitor group inboxes and assign emails to the appropriate personnel
- Report unassigned jobs and any other potential project risks to department managers
- Manage projects independently from start to finish with the goal of meeting or exceeding client expectations
- Work on special projects and other duties as required by management

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. In addition, any combination of education, experience and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
- Able to handle multiple demands, delays or interruptions, while still maintaining accuracy and timeliness
- Demonstrate initiative, persistence, ability to problem-solve, and enthusiasm for learning
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, using professional tone and language; tactful and diplomatic with a clear, straightforward, courteous, and cooperative manner when dealing with others
- Detail-oriented, thorough, accurate, and able to work quickly and steadily in a focused manner
- Able to deal with frequent changes, delays, interruptions, and unexpected events
- Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities, and creative thinking to readily offer client solutions
- Previous internship or experience in a fast-paced office setting
- Willing to participate in a culture of responsiveness to strengthen relationships and ensure the needs and time of others are met and respected
- Fluent in English
- Fluency in another language, other than English, is preferred but not required
