About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cognos Developer with a strong background in IBM Cognos, DataHub/InfoCenter (DHIC), and Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on implementation experience, deep knowledge of insurance data models, and the ability to translate business reporting needs into effective Cognos solutions.
This is a contract role with potential long-term engagement for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Cognos Development & Reporting
- Design, develop, and deploy Cognos reports, dashboards, and analytics using DataHub/InfoCenter (DHIC).
- Understand InfoCenter data marts and optimize them for business reporting needs.
- Ensure high-performance, scalable reporting solutions.
Insurance Industry Expertise (P&C Required)
- Leverage Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain knowledge to align reporting with business needs.
- Experience with Guidewire InsuranceSuite (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, ContactManager) is a strong plus.
Project & Stakeholder Management
- Identify scope changes, risks, and requirements gaps, and escalate to project managers.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-impact reporting solutions.
Best Practices & Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated with the latest Cognos & DHIC certifications (preferred but not mandatory).
- Recommend optimizations for reporting efficiency and data accuracy.
Required Qualifications
Must-Have:
- 3+ years of hands-on IBM Cognos development (Report Studio, Framework Manager).
- 23 full project implementations (not just maintenance/support).
- Strong experience with DataHub/InfoCenter (DHIC).
- P&C Insurance industry experience (other domains will not qualify).
Nice-to-Have:
- Exposure to Guidewire InsuranceSuite (PC, CC, BC, CM).
- Relevant DH/IC or Cognos certifications.
