About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Android Developer to join the team responsible for adapting and launching for Retail Mobile App Development project. In this role, you will collaborate with the Android Technical Lead and cross-functional teams to localize the existing Android app for the target market.

You will play a key part in implementing bilingual (English/French) support, integrating regional systems, and optimizing app performance to meet global quality and compliance standards. Your expertise in Jetpack Compose, Composable Architecture, SDUI, and Atomic Design will be instrumental in creating scalable, modern Android experiences tailored for Target users.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Development

• Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Composable Architecture principles.

• Collaborate with the Android Lead to adapt the existing app architecture for the Target market, ensuring localized configurations for language, currency, and address formats.

• Apply Atomic Design and SDUI principles to create dynamic, reusable, and consistent UI components across bilingual interfaces.

2. Localization & Implementation

• Implement bilingual (English/French) support across all app modules.

• Integrate localized payment, checkout, and loyalty flows tailored for the Target user experience.

• Ensure compliance with Target regulatory, privacy, and accessibility standards.

• Work with QA and automation teams to validate localized content, automated test scripts, and region-specific user flows.

3. Integration & Collaboration

• Partner with backend engineers to integrate APIs, CMS, and XAPI/BFF layers.

• Ensure seamless synchronization between the mobile app and backend systems while maintaining data integrity and performance.

• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, product managers, and iOS counterparts to align on design consistency and feature parity.

4. Quality & Optimization

• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code that adheres to engineering standards.

• Diagnose and optimize performance bottlenecks for smooth and responsive app experiences.

• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and release readiness to ensure timely, high-quality deliveries.

5. Continuous Improvement

• Stay current with the latest Android and localization frameworks, tools, and best practices.

• Contribute to the adoption of GenAI tools and automation to enhance development efficiency.

• Support ongoing improvements in build, testing, and deployment pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Android development with strong expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Composable Architecture, SDUI, and Atomic Design.

• Proven experience in localization and multi-language (English/French) mobile app development.

• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, backend integrations, and mobile CI/CD pipelines.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with retail or e-commerce mobile apps and multi-region launches.

• Familiarity with Target market localization, payment systems, and bilingual UX/UI considerations.

• Exposure to cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and automated testing frameworks.

• Understanding of GenAI-assisted development and Google Play Store release processes.
