To support and provide epidemiological expertise on diverse and multi-disciplinary projects. You will work on vaccine development and evaluation at all stages, covering most areas of epidemiology, including literature reviews, study design and implementation, conference presentations, and publication writing.
The Senior role performs advanced business activities such as leading a report/manuscript/protocol writing, planning and/or execution of advanced data analyses, and planning, execution and/or coordination of studies.
responsibilities
The responsibilities for a Senior Epidemiologist include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Scientifically leads epidemiological projects with regard to:
o the design and development of study protocols as well as the planning and implementation of epidemiological studies;
o the choice and planning of statistical methods to analyse study data;
o the identification of epidemiological studies’ risks and mitigation strategies;
o the interpretation of study results and study reports;
o the conduct of literature reviews, including systematic literature reviews;
o manuscript preparation and submission;
o the preparation of conference presentations.
- Supervises and coaches more junior epidemiologists.
- Presents study results to clients and in conferences.
- Is the point of contact for clients with regard to technical and scientific matters.
- Supports advanced project management tasks (e.g. planning of workload and timelines).
- Independently supports the writing of project proposals for clients.
- Other activities as assigned by manager/supervisor.
experience - the ideal candidate will have
Essential requirements
- Minimum 6 years of previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry in an epidemiology-related role or equivalent academic/regulatory/NGO experience;
- Experience in coordinating large epidemiological or interventional studies;
- Experience in Real World Evidence (RWE) studies using electronic health records databases;
- Independent working knowledge of most epidemiological methods/study designs/disease areas and advanced expertise in at least one of them.
- One or more of the following:
- MD and/or PhD in Epidemiology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Completion of a recognized field epidemiology training program (e.g., EPIET, EIS, or similar).
- Specialized training or experience in infectious disease epidemiology, vaccine epidemiology, and/or pharmacoepidemiology (considered an asset).
- Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications in the field of epidemiological research, ideally related to infectious diseases.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills;
- Ability to anticipate and address operational challenges.
- Fluency in verbal and written English production.

- Expertise in designing and implementing Real-World Evidence (RWE) studies, including vaccine effectiveness evaluations.
- Vaccines or viral pathogens experience
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical or CRO environments
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex epidemiological data for actionable insights.
- Familiarity with global health surveillance systems and regulatory requirements for epidemiological studies.
