About the Role
We are seeking a Lead Senior Business Systems Administrator with advanced Salesforce and CRM expertise. In this role, you’ll own the strategic administration, optimization, and evolution of our Salesforce platform and integrated systems. You’ll partner with business stakeholders to gather and translate requirements, lead cross-functional projects, and ensure technology solutions support OpenSesame’s operational and strategic goals.
This senior-level role is ideal for someone with deep CRM experience, strong business analysis skills, and a proven track record of driving efficiency, data integrity, and user adoption. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to evolve business systems thoughtfully—balancing agility with governance to ensure scalability, observability, and control. They will also apply emerging technologies, including AI, to streamline processes and drive operational efficiency.
Within 30 Days
- Gain a deep understanding of OpenSesame’s Salesforce environment and integrations, producing a documented systems map or summary presentation for the team.
- Serve as primary administrator of the Salesforce org instance by taking ownership of routine administration tasks, resolving at least 80% of recurring support requests independently.
- Plan and execute at least 5 meaningful configuration changes (e.g., custom objects, fields, page layouts, validation rules, flows), with user satisfaction at 90% or higher.
- Begin system integrity audits and data clean-up, ensuring no critical data quality issues remain unresolved.
Within 60 Days
- Partner with stakeholders to lead requirements-gathering sessions (minimum of 2), producing actionable user stories and solution designs.
- Collaborate with business systems admins to identify and propose at least 2 process inefficiencies for improvement, including estimated ROI or time savings.
- Resolve 95% of user-reported Salesforce issues within SLA timelines.
- Document and update 100% of system changes to ensure alignment with business processes.
- Begin ownership of CPQ customizations and administration, delivering 1–2 meaningful fixes or updates.
- Maintain a current Business Systems Map showing all APIs and data flows.
Within 90 Days
- Scope and lead at least one cross-functional system enhancement or process improvement project, delivering measurable adoption, automation, or efficiency gains.
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for at least one project and oversee a structured change management plan.
- Build and maintain standardized reports and dashboards, with at least 3 executive-level dashboards live for actionable insights.
- Deliver training guides and conduct at least one company-wide training session on Salesforce best practices.
- Take full ownership of data imports/exports, maintaining data integrity with 2% error rate.
- Mentor more junior administrators or analysts, tracking progress through feedback and improved delivery.
Within 120 Days
- Deliver a strategic Salesforce roadmap with 3–5 long-term recommendations aligned to company goals and Salesforce best practices.
- Demonstrate measurable improvements in automation and adoption (e.g., 20% increase in automated workflows used, 15% increase in dashboard usage by business teams).
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on CRM optimization, presenting system health, adoption metrics, and strategic opportunities quarterly.
- Reimplement or deliver a plan for Salesforce CPQ improvements with a roadmap for scalability.
- Stay current with Salesforce releases and embed at least 2 new features into workflows that increase usability or adoption.
- Actively engage in professional development (certifications, Trailhead modules, or conferences), sharing 2+ knowledge sessions with the team to promote continuous learning.
Location: This is a remote-first role, but candidates must be located in regions that allow for significant overlap with U.S. time zones.
