We’re hiring a Web Developer to partner with a fast-scaling direct-to-consumer brand that’s building out its in-house digital team. As the business transitions away from an agency model, this role is central to owning the website experience, subscription platform, and ongoing improvements across the digital storefront.

In this role, you’ll maintain and optimize the Shopify Plus storefront, manage subscription workflows, and collaborate with marketing and creative teams to deliver a seamless customer journey. Accountability

As a Web Developer, your success will be defined by your ability to maintain a high-performing digital storefront, deliver new features and pages with speed and accuracy, and collaborate across teams to enhance the customer experience. You’ll balance hands-on development with problem-solving, ensuring site performance, reliability, and scalability.

Here’s how you’ll make an impact:

Website Development & Maintenance

• Maintain and update the Shopify Plus storefront to ensure functionality, performance, and uptime.
• Build, test, and deploy landing pages, product pages, and campaign pages.
• Manage Recharge subscription platform updates, integrations, and troubleshooting.
• Perform routine maintenance and fix bugs/issues as they arise.

CMS & Content Management

• Support day-to-day CMS tasks, including copy changes, content updates, and merchandising adjustments.
• Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to implement new content and features.
• Optimize front-end code for speed, SEO, and accessibility.

Collaboration & Growth Support

• Partner with internal teams to scope and deliver website enhancements.
• Translate agency-led initiatives into sustainable in-house workflows.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in user experience, checkout flow, and subscription management.

Colleagues

You’ll collaborate closely with marketing, creative, and operations teams to ensure the storefront and subscription systems deliver a seamless, reliable customer experience.

Skills & Qualifications

At Oceans, we believe in T-shaped individuals—those who bring deep expertise in one area, paired with broad curiosity and interests. As a Web Developer, your vertical focus will be Shopify Plus development and subscription management, while your horizontal strengths should include front-end coding, site optimization, and cross-functional collaboration.

To excel in this role, you should have:

• Experience: 2–4 years in professional web development, ideally in D2C or e-commerce.
• Shopify: Keen interest in managing Shopify Plus storefronts, theme customization, and integrations.
• Subscription Platforms: Hands-on experience with Recharge or similar subscription tools.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other similar platforms.
• Optimization: Strong understanding of site speed, SEO, and responsive design best practices.
• Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and independently.
• Collaboration: Strong organizational and communication skills to partner with marketing and creative teams.

Bonus skills:

• Experience with Shopify apps and custom integrations.
• Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Triple Whale).
• Exposure to CRO frameworks and A/B testing.
• Ability to support basic design-to-development handoff using tools like Figma.
• Background in consumer lifestyle or e-commerce brands.

Role Specifications

This is a remote role, where you will be expected to work a split shift with some overlap with our client’s time zone. You will, however, be expected to be present for in-person training programs during your first 90 days with us.
