We’re hiring an E-Commerce (Shopify) Operations Specialist to join a fast-moving Canadian multi-brand e-commerce company that operates several B2B and D2C Shopify storefronts. This role is highly operational and execution-focused: you will turn briefs, product updates, creative assets, and promotional calendars into fully built, QA’d, and published web experiences across multiple Shopify stores.
If you’re detail-obsessed, fast, precise, and energized by repetitive but high-impact execution work, this role is built for you.
Accountability
As the E-Commerce Operations Specialist, your success will be measured by your ability to publish clean, error-free Shopify builds at speed, maintain accurate multi-store environments, and uphold a reliable weekly shipping cadence across all assigned tasks. You’ll be responsible for bringing campaigns, product drops, landing pages, and merchandising changes to life—on time, every time.
Here’s how you’ll make an impact:
Shopify Execution
- Build and update landing pages, collection pages, and site sections/blocks across B2B and D2C Shopify stores.
- Implement product updates including metadata, tags, pricing, templates, and merchandising rules.
- Execute promotions, price changes, rebrands, and product launch calendars with high accuracy.
- Manage redirects, navigation updates, and basic theme adjustments.
Creative Asset Publishing & QA
- Upload images, banners, and creative supplied by the Marketing/Design team.
- Perform thorough QA on every build, including:
- Mobile responsiveness
- French-language compliance (Bill 96)
- Broken links and missing assets
- Layout, spacing, and image quality
- Ensure all pages and assets are fully tested before go-live.
CRO / Experiments Support
- Publish A/B test variants and alternate landing pages.
- Swap test assets and ensure tracking readiness.
- Report issues or blockers clearly and proactively.
Email & eCRM Ops
- Insert URLs, check tracking parameters, and QA campaign assets for email/SMS.
- Support lifecycle flow updates as required.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain a structured shipping cadence—reporting what shipped, what’s pending, and any blockers.
- Follow established SOPs and help document new micro-processes for repeat tasks.
- Execute collaboratively with the E-Commerce Coordinator (who prepares briefs and copy).
Colleagues
You’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders.
At Oceans, you’ll also receive guidance and support from our Operations Manager, who will help you succeed in the role and ensure that you’re continuously growing and developing in your career.
Skills & Qualifications
At Oceans, we believe in T-shaped individuals—those who bring deep expertise in one area, paired with broad curiosity and interests. As an E-Commerce (Shopify) Operations Specialist, your vertical strength will be precise, high-volume Shopify execution, while your horizontal strengths may include QA, email operations, CRO support, and cross-functional coordination.
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Experience: 2–4 years of hands-on Shopify execution experience (building pages, products, and updates—not supervising).
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with Shopify page builders, themes, sections, collections, metafields, navigation, redirects, and basic HTML/Liquid.
- Quality Assurance: Excellent QA discipline with the ability to catch typos, pricing errors, layout issues, broken links, and compliance gaps.
- Execution: Ability to self-manage a publishing backlog and deliver clean, accurate work under tight timelines.
- Communication: Strong written English with the ability to follow French-language QA checklists.
- Mindset: Detail-obsessed, fast, accountable, and thrives in high-volume, execution-driven e-commerce environments.
Bonus skills:
- Experience in multi-store or multi-brand Shopify environments.
- CRO support experience (landing page variants, A/B tests).
- Familiarity with SEO/affiliate tagging or schema markup.
- Exposure to Canadian e-commerce or bilingual EN/FR sites.
Diversity of experience is core to Oceans. You are expected to work inclusively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds, ensuring that both personal and collective dignity are supported.
During the interview process, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your skills in the following areas:
- Shopify execution: pages you’ve built and workflows you’ve run.
- QA skills: how you test for accuracy, responsiveness, and compliance.
- Operations mindset: how you manage recurring updates and shipping cadences.
- Technical problem-solving: how you handle Shopify limitations without developer help.
- Speed and precision: How did you balance speed with accuracy, and what systems did you use to prevent errors?
