Australia onlyNUWAVE POSITION SUMMARY:
NUWAVE is seeking a technically strong and commercially aware AWS DevOps Engineer to join our global infrastructure team. This role is remote but limited to candidates based in Australia and combines deep AWS networking expertise with pre-sales and quoting support responsibilities.In addition to managing scalable, secure AWS networking environments (e.g., Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, CloudWAN, BGP), this role will work closely with our Sales and Product teams to support and help quote both physical interconnects (NNIs/Direct Connects) and AWS Direct Connect services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps
- Design and maintain AWS cloud networking architectures:
- VPCs, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, CloudWAN, BGP routing
- Manage hybrid cloud connectivity between AWS and on-prem data centers.
- Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, etc.).
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize network and cloud performance and security.
- Any other duties management choses to amend from time to time.
- Collaborate with Sales to assess and design customer connectivity solutions involving:
- Physical NNIs/Direct Connect circuits
- AWS Direct Connect with Hosted or Dedicated options
- Assist in quoting and solution design, including bandwidth planning, region availability, and high-availability scenarios.
- Serve as a technical point of contact for pre-sales customer calls related to cloud connectivity.
- Translate technical cloud networking requirements into business-aligned deliverables.

NoneMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- 3–5+ years in a DevOps, Cloud Networking, or Sales Engineering role with strong AWS experience.
- Deep understanding of AWS networking services, including:
- Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, CloudWAN, BGP, VPN
- Experience supporting or working alongside Sales or Product teams on quoting or solution design.
- Hands-on proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK for infrastructure provisioning.
- Solid scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.).
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
- Based in Australia and able to work independently in a remote-first environment.
- Highly organized, strategically focused, detail oriented
- Experience with handling and maintaining highly confidential information
- Ability to work from home with little supervision
- Proficient in the use of MS Office, Internet, e-mail and collaboration
- Fast learner with a "get it done" attitude
- AWS Certifications such as:
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty
- Familiarity with Layer 2 and Layer 3 interconnects, colocation ecosystems, and physical cross-connect processes.
- Experience with hybrid DNS, security groups, routing policies, and multi-region cloud design.
