Bids and Estimations Director

Woolpert seeks a Director of Bids and Estimations to lead the company's proposals, tendering, and cost estimation functions across all geospatial engineering projects. The Director will oversee a multidisciplinary team responsible for bid management, proposal writing, and cost modelling, while engaging closely with business development, engineering, and project delivery teams.

Requirements

• Develop and execute a comprehensive bidding and estimation strategy
• Lead bid/no-bid decision processes
• Establish standardised tools, templates, and processes for bids, tenders, and cost estimation
• Oversee the end-to-end bid process
• Coordinate technical, commercial, and legal inputs
• Manage bid timelines, deliverables, and team assignments
• Direct the preparation of detailed cost estimates
• Benchmark costs using historical data, market rates, and supplier quotes
• Work closely with finance and operations teams
• Engage with clients, partners, and suppliers
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing bids and estimations team
• Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
