The impact of the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key role in driving the implementation of DevOps best practices and principles to streamline our software development lifecycle and enhance system reliability, scalability, and security.

On a given day, a Senior DevOps Engineer will:

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and automated DevOps solutions to integrate development, testing, deployment, and monitoring processes.
• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment phases of software development, ensuring fast and reliable delivery of applications.
• Utilize infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
• Deploy and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes to facilitate application deployment and scaling.
• Implement monitoring and alerting solutions using modern monitoring backend systems to track system performance, identify issues, and ensure high availability and reliability of applications and infrastructure.
• Ensure security best practices and compliance standards across the DevOps pipeline to safeguard system integrity and protect sensitive data.
• Foster collaboration between cross-functional teams to promote a DevOps culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Lead efforts to troubleshoot complex technical issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to minimize system downtime and disruptions.

Requirements

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, Cloud, platform engineering, or a related field.
• In-depth knowledge of public cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Strong automation skills with experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with service deployment and configuration management tools such as Ansible.
• Ability to build CI/CD pipelines using modern automation tools like GitHub actions and Bitbucket Pipelines.
• In-depth knowledge and proven experience in designing, implementing and managing advanced monitoring and alerting mechanisms. Preferred monitoring and alerting tools: Prometheus, AlertManager, Grafana, Datadog.
• Proficiency in Linux operating system both as an end user and for server administration.
• Proficiency in programming/scripting languages like Python, or Shell scripting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior team members and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have:

• Experience with designing, implementing and managing complex and reliable data pipeline architectures.
• Experience with integrating machine learning models or AI algorithms into DevOps workflows (MLops)
• Understanding of big data technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, or distributed data processing frameworks, and experience with integrating them into DevOps workflows for data-driven applications.
