The Manager, Pricing & Profitability Optimization supports the execution of Monro’s pricing strategy through rigorous analysis, data-informed recommendations, and ownership of key pricing programs. This role focuses on day-to-day pricing work for strategic accounts, competitive monitoring, promotional pricing, and category-level pricing initiatives by transforming available internal data and market intelligence into clear actions that improve revenue and margin performance.
This manager is a hands-on contributor who performs detailed analysis, drives adoption of pricing tools, supports the application of model-driven price recommendations, partners across functions to implement recommendations, and ensures consistent execution. The manager collaborates with Merchandising, Finance, Marketing, Store Operations, and the Strategic Accounts Sales team, while working closely with offshore analytics resources to support pricing analysis and execution.
The role also plays a key part in strengthening adoption of Monro’s new pricing models by translating technical outputs into clear guidance that business partners can use consistently.
Compensation: The Salary range for this role is $98,000 - $125,000 annually. This role is eligible for additional compensation and incentives. Pay will be determined based on experience level.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for Pricing Execution & Program Ownership
- Support pricing for assigned categories (e.g., Tires, Parts & Services) with data-driven recommendations and performance insights.
- Own pricing support for Strategic Accounts including deal desk price proposals, contract pricing development, and customer-level pricing reviews.
- Partner with Marketing on promotional pricing setup, impact evaluations, and event performance tracking.
- Manage competitive positioning with offshore pricing analysts by maintaining local index accuracy, monitoring competitive price movements, and identifying gaps or opportunities.
- Review and interpret elasticity model outputs and translate findings into practical pricing actions.
- Conduct detailed analysis of volume, revenue, margin, and elasticity to identify profit improvement opportunities.
- Diagnose margin leakage by brand, SKU, or market and recommend corrective actions.
- Use Snowflake to extract, validate, and analyze data supporting pricing decisions.
- Leverage existing Power BI dashboards and partner with IT or Analytics to enhance reporting as needed.
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Finance, Marketing, Store Operations, and Strategic Accounts to ensure smooth execution of pricing actions.
- Provide clear documentation, supporting analysis, and rationale behind recommendations to cross-functional partners.
- Translate pricing model outputs into practical, actionable steps and reinforce consistent adoption of model-driven pricing across teams.
- Produce recurring reports on pricing actions, competitive position, margin impacts, and promotional performance.
- Track the effectiveness of pricing changes and collaborate with partners to adjust strategies as needed.
Education and Experience:
- MBA or advanced degree in Business, Economics, or related field.
- Experience with pricing optimization tools and software (e.g., PROS, Pricefx, Zilliant, or similar).
- Proficiency with SQL in a Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar environment.
- Retail automotive experience highly preferred
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong capability in analytical work and modeling
- Knowledge of statistical modeling and predictive analytics for pricing decisions.

- Ability to act as a subject-matter resource to Merchandising and other functions by helping interpret pricing outputs and clarify pricing logic, without formal leadership responsibility.
- Capable of partnering with offshore pricing analysts to support daily pricing tasks, validate data, and maintain accuracy in pricing systems.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, and fax machines. Position requires incumbent to see, read, hear, speak, reach, bend, sit/stand for prolonged periods of time at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
