Mitacs is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to join its Technology Platforms group. The ideal candidate will have experience in automated and manual software testing, with a focus on manual and exploratory testing. The role offers varied tasks and opportunities for professional growth and expansion of skills in different disciplines and testing technologies.

Requirements

• Perform manual testing on the web, in the background, and in integrated systems.
• Contribute to the maintenance of automated testing scripts and support ongoing automation initiatives.
• Conduct a wide range of testing types (functionality, system, regression, integration, user acceptance, multi-browser, and application back-end validation).
• Participate in the development and maintenance of the integration of automation testing with continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines in collaboration with automation developers.
• Design testing scenarios that include a no-problem (happy path) scenario, inversion testing, and edge cases to test all requirement cases.
• Perform API testing using tools like Postman, Swagger, or SoapUI.
• Write basic SQL queries to validate database functionality and test data.
• Contribute to testing enterprise systems like Dynamics 365 CRM and other integrated software platforms ('ERP').
• Use BDD or data-driven testing methodologies when relevant.
• Troubleshoot and document defects clearly in Azure DevOps or Jira.
• Stay up-to-date with sector trends, emerging tools, and best practices in automation.
• Be fully responsible for testing assigned feature or workflow.
• Evaluate and analyze requirements to perform testing, and identify defects early in the development process.
• Take the lead to identify opportunities to improve automation coverage, reduce manual testing efforts, and optimize regression cycles.
• Be the quality champion throughout the IC/LC journey, ensuring quality assurance from planning to post-deployment.
• Contribute to ongoing process, framework, standards, and documentation evolution in quality assurance.
