We provide a solution that combines advanced software, radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology, a dedicated customer-support team, and a secure database to track and trace cannabis from growth, harvest, and processing to testing, transport, and sale. As Senior Architect, you will operate as a senior technical leader and force multiplier for the CTO, driving architectural excellence, accelerating execution, and directly shaping the engineering organization’s ability to deliver scalable, high-quality products.

GENERAL OVERVIEW

The Senior Architect is a senior, hands-on technical leader who acts as a strategic and execution partner to the CTO. This role functions as an architectural authority and technical problem solver, stepping into complex or ambiguous initiatives to drive clarity, execution, and measurable outcomes. The Senior Architect operates across backend systems, platform architecture, data layers, and mobile applications, helping engineering teams move faster, make sound architectural decisions, and scale products effectively. This is not a people-management or advisory-only role; it requires direct technical contribution and leadership through execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Core duties and responsibilities include the following.

  • Act as the CTO’s technical extension across engineering teams and strategic initiatives.
  • Step into ambiguous, high-priority, or struggling initiatives and drive them to resolution.
  • Provide architectural leadership across backend, platform, mobile, and data systems.
  • Diagnose technical bottlenecks and implement scalable, long-term solutions.
  • Lead by example through direct hands-on technical contribution.
  • Align engineering execution with strategic priorities to improve delivery velocity.
  • Support AI-driven development initiatives and agent-based workflow integration.
  • Help scale recently launched and upcoming products through sound architectural decisions.
  • Operate with high autonomy and ownership, influencing without formal authority.

May perform other additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering and architecture roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience shipping and scaling B2B SaaS products.
  • Strong hands-on expertise across backend systems, platform architecture, and/or mobile applications.
  • Experience operating in startup or high-growth technology environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives without formal authority.
  • Experience improving engineering delivery velocity and architectural maturity.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and systems thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong communication skills to influence senior technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience with AI-enabled development workflows preferred.
  • Relevant architecture or cloud certifications preferred.

TRAVEL

Minimal travel expected. Occasional travel for leadership meetings, strategic planning sessions, or cross-functional collaboration.
