Purpose

This role is responsible for leading the Google Cloud Platform services & solutions development and implementation offered to business customers.

The role will report to the Assistant Director Data Center and Cloud Product Development.

The Cloud Solution Architect is a key role in the ICT Product Development Team that connects Sales with Technical Solutions unifying business and technical envisions. You will be part of a talented solution architects team that leads technical sales, and design infrastructure and application solutions, implementation to B2B customers in Qatar. You can work independently, or as a member of the team, in a multi-cultural, agile and fast-paced environment and deliver business results.

You have a proven track record of building complex solutions for B2B customers within a Service Provider.

You are an experienced professional with strong technical skills across various technology domains including but not limited to: Cloud services (AWS, Microsoft, Google, VMware, Oracle, IBM), Data Protection Services (Dell, Veeam, Commvault), CDN services, Security solutions and Connectivity (Express Route, Broadband, VPN MPLS, SD WAN) and a keen eye for details and quality improvements.

Main responsibilities shall include:

• Support Ooredoo Sales team in opportunity development as a Technical Pre-Sales, matching customer complex challenges into efficient deliverable solutions.

• Design architecture of a solution to be proposed to the customer.

• Design end-to-end transformation journey of a customer, from the legacy to the cutting edge.

• Estimate the sizing and effort of the delivery team needed to implement the solution, setting the economics base line for the sales and delivery of the project.

• Write down technical (HLD, LLD) and sales proposal documents that fit the designed solution into customer needs, including gathered data during the sales cycle and assumptions. This includes driving the solution feasibility (technical and costing) with Ooredoo Technology and Partners when required.

• Take technical leadership of a project, making deep architecture decisions and working in the delivery as a member of the team.

• Lead fluent verbal and written communication with customers, showing the value and relevance of your solution to their business.

• Deliver Technical Presentations pitching Ooredoos solution and benefits to customers.

• Building hosting solutions based on Azure, AWS, GCP, VMware or Private clouds and technologies.

• Interlock with Ooredoos Technology Partners leveraging the best potential of each company for the benefit of our customers.

• The Solution Architect is responsible for the overall integrity of the solution so must have knowledge of existing system set, the company's overall systems strategy and any applicable IT standards.

• Conduct DC and Application Assessments to deliver the cloud migration journey roadmap and TCO to Ooredoos customers.

Minimum Experience and Essential Knowledge:

• Minimum 10 years of related work experience in Leading Solution Architect role for Service Provider
• Strong Google Cloud Platform knowledge in infrastructure and application resources in both IaaS and PaaS flavors: Virtual Machines, Storage, App Service, Functions, Batch, Automation, CDN, Caches, relational and non-relational databases, Site Recovery, backup, monitor
• Strong skills in GCP networking: Virtual Networks, Gateways, Load Balancers, Express Route, Private Link, VPN, Front Door.
• Comprehensive hands-on experience with various GCP services, including compute, storage, BigQuery, AI/ML, networking, security, and CI/CD tools.
• Proven track record in designing and implementing end-to-end GCP solutions that address performance, scalability, and security requirements.
• Strong understanding of cloud design patterns, containerization (e.g., Kubernetes), and modern application development practices.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices for provisioning and managing GCP resources.
• Solid grasp of identity and access management within GCP, including Google Cloud Identity and Access Management (IAM).
• Experience with hybrid cloud architectures, GCP Interconnect, and other connectivity solutions.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices, and modern DevOps toolchains.

• Strong skills in GCP migrations for both Lift & Shift and rehost/refactor strategies, familiarity with Azure Migrate is expected.
• Strong knowledge of DC and Application Assessment strategies and tools with a previous hands-on experience
• Strong knowledge on Application Modernization, Automation is a plus.
• Previous experience with Azure, AWS, VMware technologies including but not limited to DC and App assessments to migration to Public clouds is a plus
• Experience in providing solutions for SAP and Oracle hosting would be a plus.
• Good know-how on network/connectivity, security, storage, and backup technologies to build solutions to meet customer requirements.
• Experience in leading and managing solutions for large bids, with experience in building cost models.
• Excellent oral and written communications in English is a must, Arabic is considered a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure in dynamic and challenging environment and support to manage multiple parallel complex initiatives.
• Ability to be structured, organized and have strong time-management skills with proven track record on delivering results.
• Ability to think out of the box, to innovative and be creative thinker

Education:

• Min. Bachelor degree in IT/Telecom, Computer Science or Computer Engineering

Certifications:

• Google Professional Cloud Architect
• Azure Certified Solution Architect
• AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional is a plus.
• Additional certifications are a plus CISSP, Data Center CDCP/CDCE is a plus, ML, AI
